GO SEAFOOD

Green Ocean (GO) Seafood is a company with sustainability in mind. Formerly known as Green Island Seafood Products and under the Tree of Life umbrella, GO challenged R&C to create a new look that speaks to their values without losing identity in the competitive frozen seafood market.

Challenge

GO Seafood was eager for an updated brand identity and packaging design for their new line up of frozen shrimp and fish. They were looking to promote their preference for sustainable fishing practices and tie into their great recipes to emphasize the quality of their products for home-chefs. With its online presence in deep waters, GO also required a website rebuild to coincide with the brand’s new identity.

Outcome

This brand refresh for Green Ocean Seafood helped the frozen seafood distributor gain traction in the marketplace. The frozen fish freezer aisle is typically a sea of blue and yellow. To stand out while representing GO’s sustainable fishing practices, a craft paper background was used with strong black accents, and a homey touch was added by introducing a variety of plaid textile patterns — each pattern representing a unique variety. The revitalized branding are helping GO Seafood get into more Canadian and US frozen seafood markets.
